LIKE FATHER LIKE SON
A man is sculpting his dog, who is posing on the stump of a tree. His son, holding a piece of wood, is going to try to copy what his father has done. If, in truth, this is autobiogrpahical, the little boy will far surpass the father's efforts.

LUCY IN MOURNING
When Fred died (See Fred's Dog House) , something very precious went out of all of our lives. Lucy felt is most of all. This sculpture shows Lucy kneeling in front of Fred's tombstone, with a tennis ball in her mouth.

MEMORIES
A woman is going about her chores, cleaning house, when she comes upon photographs of her family, which stops her in her tracks. It's nostalgia time.

NEEDS MORE SALT
This was a wedding present to Sol's new sister-in-law, who is a very good cook. The woman is standing over a stove, on which there are a series of pots - all cooking something wonderful. To her discerning taste, salt must be added to what she is tasting, to make it even more fantastic.

QUIET TIMES
A man and his wife are sharing the peace of being married for a long time and not needing to talk - but just bask in each other's company. A very content moment. 14"H x 14.5"W x 10"D. Carved and painted wood. Circa 1981.

SIZE 12
This sculpture depicts another triumph in which Sol shared his wife's joy. After she lost a lot of weight, she was able to get into a Size 12, and this shows a trip to the store, with a rack of Size 12 dresses - trying them all on, and Sol showing his appreciation for the feat she has accomplished. It was a great day for both of them.
